About the Program:
The British Council and Formula 1 are working together to inspire the next generation and open up a world of future career opportunities. We are launching a new international educational program, Learning Sectors: Acelerando no Circuito da Aprendizagem (Learning Sectors: Accelerating on the Learning Circuit), which supports young people in developing the knowledge, skills, and passion for a career in STEM. The program will benefit youth in 700 schools across the UK, Brazil, India, and South Africa by 2025.
Young people will experience STEM fields hands-on through Formula 1 experts, who will share insights from the world of sport and encourage students to consider careers in STEM.
In Brazil, students will participate in a programming challenge aimed at engaging students, particularly girls and black individuals. The challenge is an integral part of the computational thinking and programming programme, Codifica+, which will take place in partnership with SECTI-GO (State Secretariat for Science, Technology, and Innovation) in 2025.
Launching Event:
Students, teachers, and strategic partners were invited to co-create the challenge during the Formula 1 Grand Prix in São Paulo.
In an immersive experience, the group worked with design thinking methodology to create programming challenges that were relevant and engaging for students and teachers in Elementary and High School. They also had the opportunity to learn more about how Formula 1 operates and meet the engineers involved in the program.
The challenge is open to high school teachers from public schools and institutions in Goiás. Registrations are open until February 21, 2025. To register, click here
