Public policies for English teaching: an overview of Brazilian public network experience is the result of a diagnosis carried out by Move Social exclusively for the British Council.

The publication is the first comprehensive study of how Brazilian states are creating baselines for compulsory English teaching and learning, investigating aspects such as level of structure and teacher training in state schools, considering that 2020 marks the date in which the English language becomes mandatory in the Brazilian’s basic education network.

In addition to the diagnostics and overall analysis, the publication uncovers inspiring practices in English language training actions around the country, such as the Rio Criança Global program in Rio de Janeiro, the Training in Disciplinary Action for the English Language in Paraná, and the English Training Meetings in Pernambuco.
