Abstract
The future of English language assessment: young learners: This webinar will shed light on the future directions of English language assessment drawing on recent research under the Future of English programme initiated by the British Council. Assessment in all its forms and for a multitude of purposes has grown in significance in all contexts and domains. I will first share the main findings around assessment from Future of English: Global Perspectives. Then I will focus in on assessing young learners both for formative and summative purposes and what this means for all stakeholders involved. I will focus in on the classroom and explore the why, what, how and what of assessing young learners. and importantly what this means for young learners in different contexts.
